Is legacy media even relevant anymore?

Does anyone actually trust the news?

I know I don’t and have not for several years. I’m guessing I’m not the only one that feels this way.

Trust in the information we receive from the various “news” outlets seems more like strategic propaganda from crony-capitalist corporations.

I respect the fact that humans have a full spectrum of beliefs, opinions, and perspectives.

Law of Polarity:

“Everything is Dual; everything has poles; everything has its pair of opposites; like and unlike are the same; opposites are identical in nature, but different in degree; extremes meet; all truths are but half-truths; all paradoxes may be reconciled.
— The Kybalion.

However, my concern is why would we trust any entity that operates on a for-profit model for information distribution?

Further, we all agree we can’t trust any form of government to provide trustworthy information.

We know social media sources are highly manipulated and untrustworthy.

So we ruled out legacy media, social media, and government sources.
Then what is the solution?

How do we build TRUST in our information sources?

Here is an idea… a content Platform that is a Creator-Owned Cooperative.

Creators submit their work to the cooperative platform. All creators' work will have free public previews and with a small fee, the full article would be unlocked. Similar to a tipping function and would not require any kind of subscription. The goal would be to have extremely competitive pricing maybe $0.05 -$1.00 for premium content but it would be priced in cryptocurrency tokens with instant unlock to the content. The accounting would be super easy. The revenue-sharing agreement would be transparent. Something like 90% to the creator and 10% to cover platform costs and if there is any surplus a dividend goes to ALL member-owners of the cooperative.

I know curation of content becomes a challenge. However, I believe that since this is a creator's platform each creator will be responsible for building their own audience and not rely on search algorithms to drive traffic to them. The primary mission here is to have a platform that creators can build their careers on for the long term!

How would this work?

We mint an encrypted token so the creator's work has public/private keys. This way only the audience who purchased access has the key to view the unlocked content. This protects the creator's rights. This could also be a potential solution to managing access to content that is inappropriate for minors or content that is illegal.

As an audience-building tool, we can implement an affiliate “share” function for the free preview of the creator's content. Any click-throughs would receive an affiliate commission for helping to build the audience.

Also, the platform could have creator-managed community groups. These groups could be free or the creator could require a subscription for access.

Lastly, each creator could have a persona/brand token for the platform that their audience can buy units of to invest in the potential of the creator. For example, Purple Alchemist is a creator/author. Purple Alchemist creates PurpleAlchemist.NFT persona and mints 10,000.00000000 token units with the option to buy fractions of a unit to the eighth decimal place. This could be a fraction of $0.01. Purple Alchemist chooses to offer these units at an initial par value of $1,000/unit. These units can be offered on a token marketplace for purchase by audience members. The revenue share that PurpleAlchemist.NFT generates from the platform will be shared with the audience token holders. Obviously, the creator will be responsible for managing their token. As the last component, a secondary market for the tokens could be created for the audience to buy and sell those tokens at current market values.

In conclusion, I have seen some attempts at something similar to this idea but none are built on the member-owned cooperative structure. Which I believe is superior in virtually every way to the alternatives. For example, Deso.Org has several decentralized social media platforms such as cloutfeedapp.com and Diamondapp.com. Web 3.0 sites are also trying to launch censor-proof social media sites such as Rumble.com that may or may not be viable long-term. Twitter has some rumors of switching over to tipping and a blockchain-type platform. Brave browser also has BAT Tokens that have some mechanics similar to this idea.

This idea is not just an idea. C3Alliance.Co is building a member-owned cooperative enterprise to facilitate creators worldwide. To learn more visit C3Alliance.co/producer.
